At the start of October we had the pleasure of hosting our very first photowalk in the vibrant city of Bristol (a stones throw from our lab in Plymouth), in collaboration with our talented brand ambassador, Chris Evans.
The aim of our photowalk was to bring together photography enthusiasts of all skill levels to explore the city's rich architecture, hidden corners, and bustling streets—all through the timeless medium of film.
Chris, an experienced photographer and Bristol local, guided the group. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow film lovers, discover new photographic perspectives, and enjoy a creative day out in the heart of Bristol.
Here are some of the highlights from our walk, with a range of photographs from our talented walkers!

Capturing Bristol: Highlights from Our Bristol Photowalk
The walk started with each walker receiving a mystery 35mm film to shoot with on the walk.
Everyone loved this concept! It gave everyone opportunities to shoot with film that they might not normally use, or had the opportunity to play around with before.
There was no restraint with not wanting to waste a film roll, as it was provided by us for the walkers to use up during the walk, before it headed back to our lab for processing.
We just love this candid street style shot by Valentino on Kodak ColorPlus 200. Despite the unpredictability of British weather, it swung in our favour on the day, so this film worked perfectly with the autumnal light on Pero's Bridge.

Even though we were all part of the same walk, each participant captured unique vantage points and perspectives. Chris encouraged everyone to explore at their own pace at each location, rather than sticking together in a single file. This approach made for a relaxed experience while allowing us to discover a wide range of perspectives!
You've got to love the architecture in Bristol, and this gorgeous image was shot by Stanley on Harman Phoenix.

Despite the arrival of Autumn, there was still some signs of summer hanging on. Beautifully shot by Dila along the walk on Kodak Ektar Pro 100.

We all have our own reasons for being passionate about film photography. Perhaps, one of the great things about a photowalk or photographing on a holiday is capturing the everyday moments that can look exceptional as a still.
This could just be an average Saturday for this couple, or they might be celebrating some exciting news. Every picture tells a story. Photo shot by Ben on CineStill 400D.

The love locks on Pero's Bridge are an iconic place to visit in Bristol. Beautiful details captured by Ali on Lomography Colour Negative 800.

The beauty of the walk is that everyone could explore their own pockets within the locations.
Who doesn't love a book sale? Claire's black and white mystery film showed a completely different perspective to the colour films shot on the walk, and we think a great type of film for autumnal days.

Street photography can be a lot of fun, and several walkers mentioned how much more confident they felt shooting in a group setting.
The unexpected people, outfits and shots are part of the fun, and we adore this shot by Asia which was taken on CineStill 400D.

Another perspective of the bridge Shot by Tobi Gates on Lomography Colour 92' before we headed down to the harbour. This film gives such a retro, vintage look and is fab for capturing street photography.

The mystery films proved a huge success, and well, things really do start getting a bit funky with this LomoChrome Turquoise film.

A lovely shot of Sarah, our co-founder with one of the walkers, by Nancy on Fujifilm 200.

James captured a fantastic action shot of one of the canal boats gliding in, perfectly timed with the glorious weather. Shot on Lomochrome Metropolis, the tones really bring the scene to life!

The walk wrapped up with a much-needed pit stop for food, drinks, and gathering all the films for processing.
It was an incredible day, and we ended up with a huge collection of photos from the walkers' unique perspectives. Be sure to keep an eye on our social media, as we'll be sharing these snapshots in the coming weeks.
We’re closing with this beautiful image, captured by Randal on Kodak ColorPlus using a Lomokind camera, featuring Rosie, our talented lab technician.

A huge thank you to our brand ambassador, Chris Evans and our wonderful community who made it such a great day!
Didn't get to make this photowalk? Photowalk #2 is in the works, and we can't wait to share more soon. Make sure you're following us on Instagram to get the updates as they come!
